From Turkey Aug 10, 2020

A research was done regarding the developments and expectations after the pandemic in the real estate sector
PROF. FERIDE BAHAR IŞIN, LECTURER AT BAŞKENT UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATIVE SCIENCES DEPARTMENT, conducted research about the future of the real state sector after the pandemic. 262 consumers were asked about the features of the house that they considered buying to determine the direction of change, expectations in commercial properties, and the housing sector. 74% of the participants stated that the house they wanted to buy in the future needed to have an adequately large balcony or a garden room. 83% of women and %67 of men pointed out the independent house need. The rate of those who wanted an autonomous and independent garden in their house was 60 percent for males and 62 percent for females.
DIGITALISATION AND PANDEMIC WILL BRING CHANGES
Prof. Işın said that COVID-19 would create a paradigm shift in the real estate sector and considerable turnouts in houses and commercial properties in the upcoming days. She also said, “Digital transformation and the pandemic will cause a rapid trend shift. Big data, artificial intelligence, robotic technologies, and internet of things will be commonly used in the sector.”
On the other hand, with people wanting to continue in the same remote working system after the pandemic, the interest in summerhouses, separate houses with gardens and farmhouses has increased.
